Claire Tsakiris

Title of Paper : The image of Greek Jew in Greek war movies (1945-1980)

She was born and raised in Thessaloniki. In the period 2012-2016, she studied History in Department of History and Archaeology (University of Ioannina). She is currently studying in Postgraduate Inter-Sectional Programme “Modern and Contemporary History – Folklore Tradition” in the same department. From July to December 2016, she cooperated with Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki in exhibition «Divided Memories 1940-1950. The distance between history and experience», which co-organized by the Goethe-Institut of Thessaloniki, the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki and the Deutsches Historisches Museum of Berlin. For exhibition’s needs, she offered her skills in copy-editing and proof-reading of Greek and German texts. Also, she searched in bibliography and audiovisual material about “The representation of German soldier in Greek Cinema (1945-1981)”. Moreover, she is experienced in transcribing and audio transcription.
Her research interests lie in the field of Jewish History, Film Studies, Social and Economic History. She is fluently speaker in English and German.
