Dimitris Koutsouris

Title of Paper : Aspects of the December 1944 Crisis in Salonica: Approaching Giorgos Modis’ experience through his correspondence

Koutsouris Dimitris studied history at the Department of History and Political Science at Panteion University of Athens, where he gratuated in 2010 (BA). Obtained Master Degree in 2012 in the same university, defending the thesis «The Defenders of Northern Greece and the Panhellenic Liberational Organization in the occupied Macedonia» where examined the topics of resistance and collaboration in the occupied Macedonia and the British involvement.

Since 2016 working on his doctoral thesis «’Tommies share uneasiness’ The December 1944 conflict as transitional climax for the Greek-American relations (1943-1947)». Since 2017 has a scholarship of the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation based on its actions of funding the research of doctoral candidates.

His focus of research is the political and diplomatic history of Greece, with an emphasis on the decade of 1940.
