Evangelos Karatzis

Title of Paper : Separating victory from defeat: A comparative analysis of AVNOJ-NOV and EAM-ELAS strategy

Evangelos Karatzis studied Communication and Mass Media (BA) in National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and at the moment is a post-graduate student in the Political Science and History Department (MA) at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, section of History. His master thesis is a comparative analysis of the strategy and organization of the Bolshevik Party and the CNT-FAI, during the pro-revolutionary and the revolutionary years in Russia and Spain respectively.
He is a member of the research group of “Military History” of the Institute of International Relations (IDIS) where is currently devised a research regarding the role of guerilla warfare in the Greek Grand Strategy. He writes for five years in the monthly journals “Military History” and “Historical Issues”. His main research interests concern the strategies of social movements, the military history of revolutions and social insurgency in the modern era.
